Lucy Lindsey

August 14, 1913 — April 19, 2004

Lucy Justice Lindsey, age 90, of Clyde died April 19, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Lindsey was born on August 14, 1913, the youngest of eight children of the late Will and Lou Fowler Justice. She was preceded in death by her husband Kyle C. Lindsey and an infant son Donald Ted Lindsey. A lifelong member of Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church she had served as Sunday School teacher, Church Treasurer, President of UMW, Member of Administrative Board and Pianist. She was a community reporter for ''The Waynesville Mountaineer'' for several years. Her life was devoted to her family and church. She is survived by seven children: Robert and wife Freda of Burton, Michigan, Sue Limbo of Brevard, Ned and wife Tootsie of Canton, Patricia Julian and husband George of Brevard, Carrol and wife Brenda of Canton, Bill and wife Elaine of Gastonia, and Gary and wife Patty of Clyde. Mrs. Lindsey was blessed with sixteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, and seven great, great grandchildren. A service of Christian worship and celebration of her life will be held at Louisa Chapel UMC at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Apri1 22, with the Reverend James Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Service of Canton. Mrs. Lindsey will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund at Home Trust Bank, P .0. Box 929, Clyde, N.C. 28721
