Lucy Wilson

Maggie Valley, Lucy Jane Wilson, age 71, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at home. A native of Memphis, TN, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth White Spalding. She was also preceded in death by her brother Bill Spalding. Lucy enjoyed sewing, gardening and vacationing in beautiful Punta Gorda, FL. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, but most importantly, a caregiver. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bill Wilson, two daughters, Elizabeth A. Wilson and partner Sylvia of Dallas, TX; Jennifer Allen and her husband Chris of Maggie Valley, NC; one son, William S. Wilson of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Cecilia Loehner of CA; Nancy Kish and her husband Elmer of FL; Ruth Swezey of NY and Mary Steingass and her husband Bill of OH; two brothers, John Spalding of CA; Joe Spalding and his wife Laura of PA; four grandchildren; Daniel Gonzalez, Mathew, Abby and Jonathan Wilson. In honor of Lucy's wishes, no services are planned. Memorials may be made to Medwest-Haywood Hospice Center, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721 Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
