Lurleen Fisher Rogers

Lurleen "Sissy" Fisher Rogers, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 16, 2025, in Buncombe County, NC, where she was born on December 26, 1968. Lurleen's vibrant spirit and infectious joy filled the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know her.

From her earliest days in Candler, Sissy was a remarkable soul, known for her ability to lift even the heaviest of hearts. Her warmth and kindness drew people in, making her a treasured social butterfly within her community.

Lurleen had a unique gift for fostering connections, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Family was at the forefront of Sissy's life; she adored her children, Amanda Rogers (Curtis Holland) and Tyler Rogers (Kaitlyn), who were her pride and joy, and her daughter-in-law who was like her own daughter, Kristy Lewis.

Her heart swelled with love for her granddaughter, Ashley, who brought her immense happiness and delight.

Lurleen's legacy continues in the hearts of her children and granddaughter, as she imparted wisdom and love that will guide them through their lives.

She also cherished her sister, Christina Justice (Chris) of Inman, SC, and her two brothers, Bobby Fisher (Missy) and Dwight Fisher (Debbie), both of Candler. Her siblings shared in many precious moments and memories, which enriched Lurleen's life and will forever keep her spirit alive in their hearts.

Though she experienced the sorrow of losing her sons, Anthony "Tony" Dean Rogers and Joseph DeWayne Rogers, Lurleen remained resilient and devoted to her family, creating a bond that only grew stronger over time. Her strength and love in the face of adversity inspired those around her.

Sissy found joy not only in her family but also within her spiritual community at Full Gospel Holiness Church in Canton. Her dedication to her faith was evident in every aspect of her life, offering her family and friends comfort and guidance.

An extraordinary cook, Sissy's kitchen was often filled with the delicious aromas of her famous barbecue, hearty meatloaf, fried wings, and her delightful caramel pie and peanut butter balls. She had a special way of bringing people together through her culinary talents, turning each meal into a cherished gathering of loved ones.
