Luther Dyer

Waynesville, Luther Ethan Dyer, age 20, of 135 Long Street, died on Friday, January 25, 2008 as a result of an auto accident in Collier County, Florida. A native of Haywood County, he was a 2005 graduate of Tuscola High School where he played all conference on the football team, and was a member of the wrestling and track team and assisted coaching at Waynesville Middle School. He worked his way through school receiving his Associate Degree in Arts from Haywood Community College in 2007. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps and had plans to attend Western Carolina for a teaching degree. He was employed by K.C. Landscaping and was a member of Central Haywood Church of Christ. He is survived by his mother, Nola Conard Kiker, of Waynesville; grandparents, James Robert and Betty Jean Conard, of Waynesville and Reverend James David Kiker and his wife, Denise; three brothers, Robert Conard, Joseph Kiker, and Nicholas Kiker, all of Waynesville; and special friends, Dale and Debbie Glance and family; as well as an extended family who loved him very much. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend James David Kiker, Reverend Steve Taylor and Reverend Bobby Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Conard, Joseph and Nicholas Kiker, John Glance, Matthew Golden, James Ledford, Justin Frese, Cody Fouts, Matthew Poteat, and Adam Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be former teammates of the Tuscola Football Team. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
