Lydia Bachmayer

Asheville – Lydia Katharina Fuchs Bachmayer, age 92, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Givens Estates. Lydia was born in Munich, Germany and had been a United States Citizen since 1951. She was the daughter of the late Karl and Victoria Schermer Fuchs. Lydia had many joys in life including dining out, enjoying time with her poodles, singing and dancing and most of all shopping. Lydia was quick witted, had an infectious smile and loved talking with family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Christine Woodruff of Hendersonville; a friend, Diane Duermit and her husband, Mike, of Asheville; one grandchild, Brian Woodruff; two great-grandchildren, Adam and Evan Woodruff; a niece, Rosemarie Kirchmayr of Munich, Germany;and a great niece, Claudia Kirchmayr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Givens Estates Health Care Center with Reverend Ed Hillman officiating. Burial will be held at 12:45 p.m. at Green Hills Cemetery., Leicester Highway. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Givens Estates Health Care Center, 600 Barton Lane Asheville, NC 28803. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, 31 Glendale Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.
