Clyde-Lynn Wilson, age 54, of 160 Forsythia Lane, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 21, 2004. She was a native of Forest City, NC and had resided in Haywood County for 28 years. She was the daughter of Jean Melton of Forest City and the late Howard Jennings Newton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gregory K. Wilson, who died in 1989. She graduated from Appalachian State in 1972. She was a postal clerk with the Hazelwood Branch of the US Post Office. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Stacy Sorrells and her husband, Allen of Canton, Megan Wilson of Atlanta, and Jeannie Wilson of Chapel Hill; and one sister, Pamela Newton of Forest City. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends during the dinner immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery in Forest City, NC. Memorial contributions may be made to Haywood Animal Welfare Association, P.O. Box 992, Waynesville, NC 28786 or flowers sent to Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church, 98 Elizabeth Chapel Road, Waynesville, or to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 US Highway 221A, Forest City, NC. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
