Mable Rogers

Canton, Mable Edna Rogers, age 100, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Memorial Campus in Asheville. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late John and Dollie Woody Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Rogers, who passed away in 2001; three sisters and five brothers. Mable had a loving and giving heart and was the oldest surviving member of Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Romaine Justice and her husband, Billy, of Canton; three sisters, Mary Rogers, Wanda Woody and Betty Green all of Canton; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby and Reverend Ray Sharpe officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the home of her granddaughter, Sherry Barton 3103 Pisgah Drive, Canton.
