Mack Hill, Jr.

Canton- Mack Earl Hill, Jr.- age 87 died Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. He was a native of McDowell County but had lived in Haywood County most of his life and was a son of the late Mack Earl and Alice Raffield Hill, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Warren Hill who died in June, 2004 and two sons, Hershel Hill who died in October, 2003 and Earl Hill. Mr. Hill was an Army Veteran of World War II having served in New Guinea. He is survived by four granddaughters, Medori Hill of Tacoma, WA, Anita Pantoja of West Covina, CA, Caroline Force of San Antonio, TX and Helen Hill of Montgomery, AL; one grandson, Jay Hill of Farmington Hills, MI and 7 great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Bethel Community Cemetery with the Reverend Brian Bird officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Animal Welfare Association, P.O. Box 992, Waynesville, NC 28786. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
