Mrs. Madeleine Plott Dammann, 88, born on July 9, 1935, in Chauny, France, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Spicewood Cottages on the morning of May 9, 2024.
Madeleine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father André David, her mother Angelina David, her first husband Lawrence Plott of 40 years who passed away in 1994, and her dear sister Lulu Dumay.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Philip Dammann. Left to cherish her memory are her children Sandy Irvine (Ross) residing in Waynesville, Jim Plott (Taesook) in Texas, David Plott in Hong Kong, and Mark Plott (Renee) in Concord, NC. Madeleine adored her 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. As a native of France, she is also survived by her French siblings Henriette, Claudie, Nicole, Ann-Marie, Sylvie and Jean-Luc, and her many nieces and nephews and their children.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Madeleine Plott Dammann will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville, 305 N. Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786. Private interment will be held at Green Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville Building Fund, 305 N. Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
Madeleine will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her kindness and gentle spirit touched the lives of so many. May she rest in peace.
