Madia Green

Canton – Madia Heatherly Clark Green, age 75, of Canton, died Friday, March 21, 2008, at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Bryan and Catherine Burress Heatherly. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Clark, who died in 1982; her second husband, Reverend Van Green, who died in 2004; and two brothers, Woodrow and Roosevelt Heatherly. She was employed by the Haywood County School System for 30 years as a third grade teacher at North Canton Elementary School. Madia was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Diane Clark Lipe of Canton; two sisters, Ruth Morris of Dover, NC, and Patsy Tyler and her husband, Robert, of Liberty, SC; two brothers, Harold Heatherly, and his wife, Brenda, of Canton and J. B. Heatherly and his wife, Betty, of Fines Creek; two special granddaughters, Whitney and Katlyn Lipe; and special caregivers, Joann Putnam and Kathleen Franklin. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Doctor Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will be at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
