Mae Miney

Waynesville, Mae Sutton Miney, age 97, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Haywood County, she resided in Detroit, Michigan for 20 years, returning to Haywood County in 1976. She was the daughter of the late Ervin and Addie Mae Smith Sutton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Miney, who died in 1995; a daughter, Shirley Bocker; brothers, Charley, Waldo, Narvel, Jessie and Eugene Sutton; and sisters, Verna Dena Hayes and Vertie Mae Stamey. Mae loved to travel and was an avid bingo player. Mae is survived by a son, Dan Haynie and his wife, Gayle, of Waynesville and her grandchildren, Ronald Haynie of Waynesville, Kenneth Haynie, of Mobile, Alabama, Brad Haynie of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Patricia Lunardi of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Pamela Crisp of Franklin, North Carolina and Cindy Sloan of Charleston, South Carolina A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
