Maggie Birchfield

Waynesville, Maggie "Geane" Carver Birchfield, age 72, of Sutton Loop, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Robert and the late Margaret Coward. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Birchfield, Jr. who, passed away in 2008 and a brother, Fred Carver. Geane enjoyed flowers, gardening and was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Pam James (Steve); a son, Stephen Birchfield (Paula) all of Waynesville; three brothers, Bobby and Bill Coward and Tommy Carver, five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a special aunt, Mildred Mull and family. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
