Mamie Wallace

December 14, 1909 — April 17, 2005

Clyde-Mamie W. Wallace, age 95, of Hill-N- Dale Drive, died Sunday, April 17, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of South Carolina, she had previously lived in Charlotte and had resided in Haywood County for the last five years. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Sally Turner Waites. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sanford B. "John" Wallace, who died in 2003; four sisters; and one brother. She enjoyed crocheting and was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church of Charlotte. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Roberts, and her husband, Tom, of Clyde; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 in the chapel of the First Baptist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Dr. Robert Prince. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church and at other times, at the residence. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716 or Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
