Marcia Mehaffey

Marcia Davis Mehaffey, age 55, died Saturday, June 06, 2009 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late William Leroy and Nola Kirkpatrick Davis. She was employed by Peppertree Resort in Maggie Valley for a number of years and was a member of Hemphill Baptist Church. Marcia was a loving wife, mother, and a friend to many. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Willie "Bill" Mehaffey; one son, Timothy Ervin Mehaffey of Clyde; two sisters, Irene Shuler and her husband, Charles, of Clyde, and Wanda Sutton and her husband, Jeff, of Maggie Valley; and one brother, Steve Davis and his wife, Carolyn, of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Hemphill Baptist Church with Reverend Dewayne Rathbone and Reverend Mike Leslie officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hemphill Baptist Church, 1829 Hemphill Road, Waynesville, NC 28785.
