Waynesville, Marcus Roy "Mark" Cabe, age 45, of Starnes Ridge Lane, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Hampton, Virginia, he had resided in Haywood County most of his life. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Noland Cabe. Mark was a 1982 graduate of Tuscola High School and attended Haywood Community College. He was a former welder and was a repair and installation technician for AT&T. Mark was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville and was attending Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Kimberly Starnes Cabe; one daughter, Allison Adair Cabe, of the home; mother, Carolyn Cabe Wyatt and her husband, Glen, of Waynesville; father, John David Cabe, of Black Mountain; one sister, Sissy Batson and her husband, Scott, of Greenville, South Carolina; mother-in-law, Ann Presar, of Asheville; father-in-law, Charles M. Starnes, of Waynesville; and brother-in-law, Greg Starnes and his wife, Kim, of Clover, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Charles W. Wilson, II officiating. Private interment will be held at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Duncan, Tim Duckett, Christian Sheppard, Michael Dodson, Kim Isreal, and Burton Edwards. The body will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Long's Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 459, Lake Junaluska, NC 28745.
