Margaret Caldwell

MARGARET V. CALDWELL

Waynesville-Margaret Van Hook Caldwell, age 77, formerly of 112 Topview Drive, died Thursday, March 13, 2003 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Effie Angel Van Hook. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B. Caldwell, Sr., who died in 1991 and her first husband, Virgil Lee Barrett, who died in 1949; a brother, John Van Hook; two half brothers, Venice Ramey and Lee Van Hook; and two half sisters, Lavelda Morgan and Onie Marie Knight. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Hannah, and her husband, Morris, of Waynesville; two sons, Raymond B. Caldwell, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and Donald Caldwell and his wife, Michelle, both of Waynesville; a sister, Bessie Bowers, of Franklin; a brother, Calvin Van Hook of Pontiac, Michigan; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend John Christy officiating. Burial will follow at Rush Cemetery in Macon County. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the services at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Morris and Greg Hannah, Justin, McClellan, and Raymond B. Caldwell, Jr., and Neil Clark. Captain Woodward Caldwell, a grandson, serving in the U.S. Army serving in Korea will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 262 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
