Margaret Cogburn

Margaret Josephine Morgan Cogburn, 87, of Canton passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Autumn Care. A lifetime native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Brown and Georgia Plemmons Morgan and stepfather, Horace Singleton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Cogburn in 2010 and brother, LaRue Morgan.

She was a graduate Canton High School, she retired from American Silk Label.  A member of Canton First Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Goodson Sunday School Class. She and Bobby enjoyed camping and spending time with family.

She is survived by a daughter, DeAna Flynn and her husband, Jimmy of Canton; son, Barry Cogburn and his wife, Kathy of Canton; grandchildren, Brandy Mathews, Tasha Mathews, Megan Cogburn Woods, Lynn Sisti, Angel Sisti Stockton all of Canton and great-grandchildren, Devon Cabe, Emorie Gibson, Kolby Woods, Adley Stockton, Ellie Sisti, Everleigh Sisti, Cayla Whitener and Hunter Whitener.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

The care of Mrs. Cogburn has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes Canton.
