Margaret Danielson Evans, age 75, of Rice Cove Road, died Thursday, August 24, 2006, at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill. She was a native of Swain County and had resided in Haywood County for the past 22 years. She was the daughter of the late Ernest E. "Jake" and Hester Lila Danielson. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Crabtree and a brother, Buddy Danielson. She graduated from Dobbins Bennett High School in Kingsport, TN in 1950. She was a member of Rockwood United Methodist Church and the former owner and operator, along with her husband, of Enchanted Cottage Gift Shop in Canton. In addition to her husband of 53 years, Walter Marcellus Evans of Canton, she is survived by two daughters, Terri and Janice Evans both of Canton; a son, Paul Evans and his wife, Tina, of Balsam; two sisters, Lucille Hincke of Kingsport, TN and Louise Kelly and her husband, Ben, of Johnson City, TN; and two grandchildren, Amanda Higgins and Daniel Evans. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2006, at Beaverdam United Methodist Church with the Reverend Brian Cornell and Reverend J. D. Amason officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
