Margaret Hill

Margaret Leatherwood Hill, age 89, of 225 Joe Vance Road, died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and one of 15 children born to the late Marcus A. and Estelle Jones Leatherwood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oliver F. Hill who died in 1979. She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. Mrs. Hill ran the snack shop at Haywood Regional Medical Center for several years. She is survived by a daughter Mitzi Lundy and her husband, Scott, of Colorado Springs, CO, a son, Gerald F. Hill and his wife, Joan, of Midland, GA; a sister, Edwina Jackson and her husband, Edwin, of Clyde; three grandchildren, Brian Brock and his wife, Dee, of Warner Robins, GA, Jeffrey Hill and his wife, Carrie, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Richard Hill and his wife, Shelley, of Columbus, GA; and seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Brock, Caleb, Lindsey and Sydney Hill, and Caroline, Jameson, and Braden Hill. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at Spring Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Brad Joyner and Reverend Michael Leatherwood officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
