Margaret Medford

Margaret Stamey Medford, age 88, died Friday, August 31, 2007, at Memorial Mission Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late William Marion Stamey, Sr. and Zennie Burns Stamey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Medford, who died in 1996; a grandson, Alan Robinson; and four brothers, Thurman, Floyd, Billy, and Herman Stamey. She attended New Hope Church of God. She is survived by three daughters, June Ledford and her husband, Buddy, of Canton, Ailene Turner and her husband, Whit, of Clyde, and Pauline Bonham of Candler; two sisters, Betty Mae Dillashaw of Elon, NC and Lynn Duckett of Fairview; a brother, William Marion Stamey, Jr. of Canton; five grandchildren, Danielle McGee, Brian Bonham, Bruce Robinson, Brenda Landers, and Stephen Robinson; and 9 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Medford's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2007, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Timothy Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
