Margaret Morgan

Candler - Margaret Armanda Payne Morgan, 93, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Luther Lawrence and Georgia Ann Cooke Payne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Morgan, who died in 1991 and two sons, John Harold and Danny Lemar Morgan. Margaret loved going with her husband to NASCAR races, gardening and canning. She enjoyed fresh farm food and was a dedicated supporter of the Atlanta Braves. Margaret would go help and stay with family members when they were sick and was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, James Robert Morgan and wife, Mary, of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law, Linda and Ruby Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
