Waynesville/Andrews, Margaret Jane Colville Crisp Stratton, age 88, of 23 Lodge Lane, Waynesville passed away on Thursday, January 03, 2013 at The Homestead. She was the daughter of the late Patrick Lowery and Jane Reeves Colville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, French O. Crisp, who died in 1969 and her second husband, Olen L. Stratton, who died in 2006; and three brothers, Reeves M., Samuel, and John Colville. Margaret Jane grew up in Bryson City and attended Swain County Schools and Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee. She was the retired bookkeeper and corporate officer of J.L. Colville Construction, Inc. While residing in Bryson City, she was an active member of Bryson City Baptist Church, Bryson City Woman's Club, and a member and past chairman of the Swain County School Board. While residing in Andrews, she was a member of Andrews United Methodist Church and past president of the United Methodist Women. She was a member and past president of the Konnaheta Club of Andrews, a board member with the Andrews Public Library, and also a volunteer with the District Memorial Hospital of Andrews. Margaret is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Crisp Greeley and her husband, J. Wells Greeley, of Waynesville; one sister, Elizabeth Colville, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, James L. Colville and his wife, Frances, of Bryson City and Robert M. Colville of Jackson, Tennessee; three sister-in-laws, Ruth Colville of Berea, Kentucky, and Betty Lou Crisp Jenkins and Betty Lloyd Crisp, both of Bryson City; two step grandchildren, Jennifer Greeley Jacobson and her husband, Ryan, of Clyde and James Alexander Greeley and his partner, Jessica Rodgers, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida; and two step great-grandsons, Caden James Greeley and Wells Patrick Jacobson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Jack C. Bishop, Jr. and Reverend L. Wilson Strickhausen officiating. Burial will follow at Swain Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Leatherwood, Charley Eggers, Jerry and Jim Estes, Bryson Colville, Gary Refitt, Taylor Baker and Wayne Cope. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, and at other times, at the home of Wells and Kathryn Greeley.
