Margaret Talley

Canton - Margaret Geneva "Gen" Rogers Talley - age 84 of 5 Locust Street passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center. She was a native of Buncombe County but had resided in Haywood County for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Gus and Bertha Bonham Rogers and the wife of the late William Herschel Talley who died in 2003. Mrs. Talley was also preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. She was of the Baptist faith and was a very special mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda McMahan and her husband Edward Dale of Maggie Valley and Erma Jean Murray of Bethel; one son, Larry Dean Rogers of Canton; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2005 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend James Parham officiating. Burial will follow in Morning Star United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence 5 Locust Street, Canton. Pallbearers will be Bo Wyatt, Boyd Leon, Jr., Steve Murray, Alan Murray, Brad Nelson and Cole Israel.
