Alive
This can't be death-I feel too alive! My lungs cease to labor; My heart doesn't strive. After long years, the moment that I've been hoping for someday shall finally arrive.
There's no more sickness-no sadness or pain, I'll never sorrow or suffer again. All fear is banished, all trouble, all strain. A new home is waiting-a new life's to gain.
Look! Can you see it? His glorious face! Joy, love, and comfort, sweetness and grace. His lovely gaze shall all sorrow erase: Now, find your strength in his tender embrace.
I never dreamed that heaven could be such glory-such splendor for eternity. You'd not be grieving and weeping for me, if you could behold what my new eyes can see.
Hold to your faith-let hope ever grow; you, too, will soon know what I know. Cling to Him, cherish Him-let His love show through the veil of your flesh-He won't let you go.
This can't be death-I feel too alive! My heart ceased to labor; my lungs no more strive. After long years, the moment that I've been waiting so long for did finally arrive. Carolyn May Bingham, 1987.
