Margaret "Bette" Smith

Maggie Valley, Margaret "Bette" Smith, age 97, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation and was a former resident of the Tower at Church Street.

A native of Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Martha Phillips Allen.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.  Prior to living in Maggie Valley, she resided in Orlando, Florida, where she worked as a Payroll Clerk for Southern Bell Telephone and was a Hostess for Disney World.  Bette was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville and was a talented quilter.

Bette is survived by her daughter, Mary Hooker, and her husband, Ron; two grandchildren, Kristin Longanecker and Travis Hooker; four great-grandchildren, Madison & Kenzie Longanecker and Tanner and Fletcher Hooker.
