Margie Brown

Waynesville, Margie Jones Brown, 84, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at her residence. A native of Old Town, Florida, she was a former resident of DeLand and Salt Springs, Florida and had resided in Haywood County for the past eight years. She was the daughter of the late Willie G. and Lovie Copeland Jones and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Brown, Sr., who died in 1996, and one sister, Willene Gay. Margie retired as a Director of Finance for Volusia County Board of Education. Her family will remember her as a great cook, but Margie also enjoyed gardening and writing, especially poetry. Margie is survived by sons, Charles K. Brown Jr. of Waynesville and Stanley Ray Brown and his wife, Coni of Silver Springs, Florida; daughter, Margie Louanne Brown of Okatie, South Carolina; a brother, Ray Jones of Perry Florida; three sisters, Sharon Ford and husband, James, of DeLand, Florida, Karon Wynell Stutts, of Jacksonville, Florida and Shandry Hembree, of Crystal River, Florida; two sister-in-laws, Ozyleah Hubbard of Lake Helen, Florida and Betty Jo Rance of DeLand, Florida; five grandchildren, Kristy Foote, Cassidy Brown, Ashleigh Ingle and husband, Richmon, Charles K. Brown, III and wife Sarah Beth Lee and Sean Brown; one great-granddaughter, Autumn Ingle; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20 at Rock Sink Baptist Church in Old Town, Florida with Reverend Brian Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
