Margie Pearson

Waynesville-Margie Christine Underwood Pearson, age 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. A native and life long resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edgar and Stella Grant Underwood. At age 5, Chris's birth mother died and Leona, her stepmother, continued to raise her as her "mother." She was also preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Underwood. She was a 1944 graduate of Waynesville Township High School and attended Blanton's Business College. Mrs. Pearson was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Billy L. Pearson; one daughter, Cynthia Ann Turpin and her husband, Philip, of Sylva, two sons; Dennis Edward Pearson and wife, Joan, of Nova Scotia and Terry L. Pearson, and his wife, Patricia, of Old Saybrook , CT.; two sisters, Joyce Reams, and her husband, William, and Dolores Caldwell both of Florida; one brother, Donald Underwood, of Candler; two sisters-in law, Mary R. Roper and Peggy R. Fugate of Waynesville, and three grandchildren, Martha A. Turpin, Matthew A. Turpin and Julian D.P. Pearson . Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Haywood County EMS, 215 N. Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786
