Marguerite Robinson

Marguerite Harvey Robinson, age 93, passed away on Sunday, November, 20, 2011 at MedWest Haywood. A native of Williston, Florida and a resident of Haywood County for the last six years, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Andrew and Laura Irene Longbottom Harvey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noel "Robbie" Robinson, who died in 2003; and a brother, Jesse Harvey, Jr. Marguerite was an avid bridge player having achieved "Life Master Award in 1993, having played major tournaments in Bermuda, Las Vegas, and numerous other locations. She was a member of the Gainesville Women's Club, Garden Club, church circle and she loved the Florida Gators. Marguerite was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Gainesville, Florida. She is survived by a daughter, Connie Nelson and her husband, Randy, of Canton; one son, Steve Robinson and his wife, Beverly, of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Constance Bottger of St. Petersburg, Florida; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Forest Meadows Funeral Home with The Reverend Brent McHugh officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Meadows Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church of Gainesville, Florida, 419 N.E. First Street, Gainesville, Florida 32601 or to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
