Marguriette Hipps

Marguriette Carolyn Smart Hipps, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Pigeon Valley Nursing Home. A native of Macon County, she was formerly of the Enka Candler and Weaverville communities. Marguriette was a daughter of the late James Earl and Emma Llewelyn Justice Smart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Douglas Hipps, who died in 2000. She is survived by a son, Kevin Hipps of Reston, Virginia; and one grandson, Jason Hipps of Reston, Virginia. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Mr. Kevin Hipps officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer, 531 S. Main Street Ste M17, Greenville, SC 29601.
