Marianna Nease-Bell

Lake Junaluska, NC, Marianna Caldwell Nease-Bell, age 81, died on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at her home at Lake Junaluska. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Mason Caldwell and Mattye Mouchet Caldwell. She was preceded in death by her brother, Sydney Caldwell, her first husband of 55 years, the Reverend Doctor Edgar Harrison Nease, Jr., and son Edgar "Eddie" Harrison Nease, III. Surviving are her present husband, Carey "Buddy" Bell of Lake Junaluska, NC; her daughter, Marilynda Mouchet Nease of Glen Allen, Virginia and her brother, Thomas M. Caldwell of Three Forks, Montana. She had many wonderful nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many loving and devoted friends. Mrs. Nease-Bell was educated in the Charlotte City Schools and graduated from the Wingate Collegiate School. She served in many leadership capacities in the churches and communities in which she lived. She will be lovingly remembered and missed. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Waynesville, NC with Reverend Sanford L. "Sandy" Giles, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside committal service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Evergreen Cemetery in Charlotte with Reverend Bill Haire officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any gifts of remembrance be shared with Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721 or First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, P.O. Box 838, Waynesville, NC 28786. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
