Waynesville, Helen Marie Constance Allison, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Brian Center. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Will and Laura Jane Hyde Constance. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, C.E. �Ed� Allison, Sr., and a daughter, Tina Marie Allison. She was employed with American Enka Corporation and was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville. Marie was a member of the Mountaineer Antique Car Club and was also involved in the Home Extension Club. She enjoyed painting, ceramics and quilting and was a member of the Primetime Singers at First Baptist Church of Waynesville. Marie will always be remembered for her delicious cooking especially her cornbread, blackberry jelly and rhubarb pie. She is survived by two sons, Charles Edward Allison, Jr., and his wife, Sarah, of Leawood, Kansas and Robert Hugh Allison of Taylors, South Carolina; a sister, Eileen Phillips and her husband, Phil, of Helena, Montana; two brothers, Hugh Constance and his wife, Betty, and Bob Constante and his wife, Joyce, all of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Charles M. Allison, Kevin Allison, Lori Phillipi, Leisa Goad and Ched Allison; four great-grandchildren, Brad and Kristin Phillipi, Joshua Allison and Bailey Allison; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Dick Maples officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Constante, Shane Constante, John Constante, Rick Constance, Billy Allison and Bill Rhodes. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
