Marie Clark

Waynesville, Marie Hassie Hipps Clark, age 79, died on Monday, January 11, 2010 at John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Eli and Attie Plemmons Hipps. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel and three brothers, Burder, Frank and Hugh Hipps. Marie retired from Dayco Corporation with 41 years service and was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville. She is survived by one son, Darrell Clark and his wife, Cathy, of Waynesville two daughters, Teresa Hayes and her husband, Robert, of Asheville and Melissa Clark and her fiancé, Kurt Hall, of Charlotte; one brother, Handy Hipps of Findlay, OH; four grandchildren, Nathan and his wife, Jenny, of Waynesville, Natalie Clark, of Dillsboro, NC and Drs. Christopher Hayes, and his wife, Jody, of Pittsburgh, PA and Stephanie Clark and her husband, Elliot, of Austin, TX and eight great grandchildren, Kate and Lizzie Clark; Colby, Preston and Sterling Hayes, and Colin, Jackson and Catherine Clark. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2010 in the chapel of First Baptist Church of Waynesville with the Reverend Dr. Robert Prince officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
