Marie Hipps

Marie Moore Hipps- age 93 of 112 Fern Lane died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Grover and Effie Harkins Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hipps, who died in 1997, five sisters and six brothers. Mrs. Hipps was a homemaker and a charter member of Beulah Baptist Church where she was the church historian and choir member. She loved quilting, growing roses and was a member of West Canton Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands; Freda and Bill Queen, Rita and Frank Chambers, and Katy and Vernon Russell all of Clyde; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church with the Reverend Chris Stevens and Reverend Jim Langford officiating. Burial will follow at Fincher's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derek Burress, Adam Shopshire, John Francoer, Stan Riddle, Bill and Jason Chambers and Jeff Queen. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
