Marie Muse

WAYNESVILLE, Marie Rogers Muse, 68, of 730 Woodfield Drive, Waynesville passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 surrounded by her loved ones at her home. She was born in Knox County, Tennessee on February 26, 1940 to the late Clarence E. and Marjorie Cooley Rogers. She attended East Tennessee State University and met her husband Ronald C. Muse at the University of Tennessee in 1958. After living in China Lake, California and Bristol, Tennessee, they have made their home in Haywood County where they resided since 1971. Marie loved the Lord and was a member of the Waynesville First Baptist Church where she worked in the third grade Sunday School class and the nursery for over 20 years. She was a loving wife, mother and "Nana" who was dedicated to her family. Her home was the meeting place for the family. Marie's favorite pastimes were playing golf on warm, sunny days with her husband and their golf buddies, shopping, and rocking babies in the nursery at church. She was an active member of the Ladies' Golf Association at LRCC. She also enjoyed her Auburn Park Bridge Club and working crossword puzzles. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald C. Muse; two daughters Connie Putnam and Mandy Heatherly and her husband Eddie; five grandchildren Levi, Brittany and Cory Heatherly and Lindsey and Cassie Putnam, all of Waynesville. She was preceded in death by her sister, LaVerne R. Hall of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Waynesville First Baptist Church with the Reverend Dick Maples officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Waynesville. Pallbearers will be members of the Mens Adult III Sunday School class. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Waynesville.
