Marie Putnam

Marie Christine Russell Putnam, age 70, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at her residence. A native of Otto, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Harrison and Roxie Conley Russell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Putnam, who died in 2000; a half-sister; and a half-brother. Marie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and loved spending time with all of her family. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Eddie and Joanne Putnam, and Michael and Kaylene Putnam, all of Canton; two daughters and their husbands, Vicky and Amos Ewart of Canton, and Frances and Otis Warren of Candler; one brother, Verlin Russell of New Jersey; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Monday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
