Clyde-Marion Conley Bobbitt, age 76, of Britthaven of Clyde died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Haywood County and was a long-time resident of Hackensack, NJ until moving back to Haywood County in 1991. She was the oldest of 15 children born to the late Reverend James C. and Nannie Belle Fretwell Conley. She was the wife of the late James Bobbitt and was also preceded in death by one son, Timothy Bobbitt and two brothers, Tommy and Paul Conley. She graduated from Allen High School in Asheville. She was a very family oriented person who was well respected in the communities she resided in. As the oldest child, she helped her parents raise her sisters and brothers. She is survived by two daughters Donna Elaine Jackson and her husband Deon of Fort Mill, SC and Paula Smith of Clyde, one son, James Anthony "Tony" Bobbitt and his wife Sharon of El Sobrante, CA, five sisters, Colleen Hines and her husband John of Clyde, Carolyn Chandler and her husband Joe of Asheville, Martha Johnson of Atlanta, GA Wanda Walker and her husband Victor of Greenville, SC and Betty Conley of Canton, seven brothers, Timothy Conley and his wife Corrie of Southfield, MI, Thomas Conley and his wife Norene, James Conley and Jackie Conley and his wife Pat , all of Asheville, Harold Conley of Johnson City, TN, Crawford Conley of Canton and Russ Conley and his wife Sylvia of Durham, NC, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and two sisters-in-law Nora and Mary Conley. The family would also like to acknowledge their appreciation to Dr. Nancy Freeman and Marion's Britthaven of Clyde family and the staff at 5 East at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2004 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Reverend Larry Allen will preside and Reverend Victor Walker will officiate. Burial will follow in Gibsontown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm Friday at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton.
