Marjorie Aveta

November 14, 1917 — June 1, 2004

Canton-Marjorie Tanner Aveta, age 86, of 65 Fair Way, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. She was a native of Warren, Rhode Island and was the daughter of the late Albert King and Ruth Slocum Tanner. She was the wife of the late Pasquale G. Aveta who died in 2002 and was also preceded in death by one son, Donald A. Dickson who died in 1980, and her first husband, John M. Dickson who died in 1972 and one brother, Robert K. Tanner. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Mrs. Aveta was a lifetime member of Kickmuit Grange. She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Kathleen Dickson Beck of Canton, one son, Kenneth A. Dickson of Norcross, GA, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with Reverend Tim McCree officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church Alter Guild Fund, 99 Academy St., Canton, NC 28716.
