Marjorie Ormond

August 18, 1926 — June 21, 2014

Lake Junaluska - Marjorie Virginia "Peggy" Ormond, age 87, of Carolina Road, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at The Homestead. A native of Jefferson County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Thaddeus and Frances Dobbs McDonald. She was also preceded in death by her husband, L.A. "Dolph" Ormond, who died in 2000; two sisters, Sarah Frances McDonald and Mary "Lib" Lowery; and two brothers, Thad and Sam McDonald. Peggy was a director of preschool programs. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville and the Junaluskans. Peggy is survived by two sons, Scott Ormond (Lisa) of Lakeland, Florida and David Ormond (Molly) of Ocala, Florida; five grandchildren, Allison, Kevin, and Matthew (Lindsey) Ormond and Nate and James Stewart; and three great-grandchildren, Ava Wilson and Karson and Aden Ormond. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at First United methodist Church of Waynesville. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Homestead, 127 Sunset Ridge, Clyde, NC 28721 or First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, P.O. Box 838, Waynesville, NC 28786.
