Marjorie Walters

Marjorie Perry Walters, age 87, of Franklin, NC, a loving, faithful wife of 61 years, a devoted mother and grandmother to her family, passed on to her eternal home with Jesus on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Mansfield, Ohio and a resident of the Mill Creek Country Club Community in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Loretta Poffenbaugh Perry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert "Fred" Walters, who passed on March 16, 2008. Marjorie along with her husband, Fred, were retired restaurateurs of two restaurants in Mansfield, Ohio before moving to Florida where they owned and operated two more restaurants in Fort Lauderdale and then Cape Coral, Florida, where they lived for 36 years before moving to Franklin, NC. Marjorie's interests included gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and especially preparing meals for her loved ones. She was a charter member of First Baptist Church in Cape Coral, helping to establish the church. She served faithfully in numerous positions and loved Jesus. She was always devoted to all her church families in the communities where she lived over the years. Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Sherry Smathers and her husband, Patrick, of Canton, NC and Bobbi Schroder and her husband, Leighton, of Roswell, GA; one son, Jeff Walters and his wife, Lanise, of Weaverville, NC; one sister, Barbara Moyer, of Cary, NC; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
