Clyde-Mark Haynes Brown, age 71, of Eustis, FL, formerly of Clyde died Tuesday, September 30, 2003.
He was a son of the late Clifford E. Brown, Sr., and Annette Haynes Brown. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Clifford E. Brown, Jr. , and Bruce B. Brown and a sister, Hilda Brown Myers. He was a self employed realtor and broker and was a former business partner of Haywood Realty and Insurance of Canton. He had been a former chairman of the Haywood County Chapter of the March of Dimes and President of the Haywood County Young Democrats where he was very active in North Carolina politics.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Carswell Brown, two step-daughters; Alison McCall and Tyson Rodriguez, both of Morganton, one sister; Gladys Coman and her husband L. A. of Canton, one brother; Milton "Bucky" Brown and his wife Gladys of Clyde, two sisters-in-law; Sara Queen Brown and Faith Hope Brown, both of Clyde and one brother-in-law; Norton Myers of Bryson City, 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2003 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Clyde. Reverend James Parham and Reverend Jerry Harwell will officiate and Mr. Glenn W. Brown will give the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Clyde First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the graveside service.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, Home Health Bldg., 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721 or to Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund, C/O Clyde Savings Bank, 8583 Carolina Blvd., Clyde, NC 28721.
