Mark Pankiw

Waynesville-Mark Paul Pankiw, age 42, of 100 Alden Avenue, Chattanooga, TN, formerly of Waynesville, died on Sunday, September 25, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He had come to Waynesville to attend his father's funeral and his death occurred unexpectedly. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Paul Pankiw, who died on September 25, 2005 and his mother, Iwanna K. Pankiw, of Waynesville. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Anna Pankiw and two brothers, Donnie Pankiw and Paul O. Pankiw. He was a graduate of Tuscola High School where he was a member of the Tennis Team, a graduate of Western Carolina University, and was enrolled in an MBA program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was a purchasing agent for Farley's and Saylor's Candy Company of Chattanooga, TN. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, George Pankiw, and his wife, Beverly, of Macon, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at St. John's Catholic Church of Waynesville with Father Dennis McGowen officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. A rosary service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m.
