Marlaine Nuzzo

Waynesville— Marlaine Alice Nuzzo, 79, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Memorial Campus. A native of Paterson, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late George and Coralynn Fletcher Simmler. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George Nuzzo. Marlaine loved her family and animals. She volunteered at SARGE'S Animal Rescue Foundation and was an environmental advocate. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She is survived by four sons, Rick Nuzzo and his wife, Anne, of Atlanta, Georgia, Ron Nuzzo and his wife, Tracy, of Waynesville, Ray Nuzzo of Greenwood, Indiana and Russell Nuzzo of Waynesville; a brother, Bill Acker of Waynesville; four grandchildren, Nathan, Dylan, Rachel and Cathleen, and one great-grandchild, Lynnea. Come celebrate the life of Marlaine at a memorial luncheon to be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Wells Events & Reception Center, 248 North Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
