Marlene Clark

Waynesville- Marlene Lois Clark, age 72, of 104 Chestnut Wood Drive, went to Heaven to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 7, 2006. She was born to G. Henry and Pearl Garrison Clark in the Williamsdale community of Hamilton, Ohio and lived there until she moved to Waynesville in 2000 to share in the care giving of her father. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ron Downey. She was a member of Westside Southern Baptist Church of Hamilton for 60 plus years, where she served as church media director, WMU Director, GA Director and Baptist Women Director. She was instrumental in establishing several libraries in neighboring churches and was Media Director for the Southwest Baptist Association in Ohio. She was also very active in Girl Scout Troop 23 and Troop 123 in Ohio. She became a member of First Baptist Church in Waynesville in 2004. Marlene is survived by her sister, Linda Sue Downey; two aunts, Gladys Huskey and Lena Beck, both of Asheville; and a large number of cousins. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 09, 2006 at Wells Funeral Home in Canton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at West Side Baptist Church with Reverend Don Gillis officiating. Burial will be Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to West Side Baptist Church, 154 Gordon Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013.
