Martha Boring

Martha Elizabeth Grasty Boring, age 83, of Birch Street died Friday, July 6, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital. She was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Hobert Garrett and Maggie Messer Grasty. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche and Margaret. She was a member of Canton First United Methodist Church. Martha loved to can, read, and spend time in her garden. She had a special place in her heart for her brothers and sisters. She is survived by five sisters, Sarah Ledford and Mary Jo Grasty of Waynesville, Frances Clark of Clyde, and Hilda Russell and Effie Donaldson and her husband, Wayne, all of Canton; three brothers, James Grasty and Fred Grasty, Sr. and his wife, June, all of Clyde, and Billy Grasty and his wife, Jo Ann, of Richmond, VA; and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Patricia G. Chaput and Reverend Michael Shuford officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of James Grasty.
