Martha Jean Kelley "Puddin" Devlin, age 78, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Mission Hospitals – St. Josephs Campus. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mae Smathers Kelley. She was also preceded in death by infant twin brothers. Martha Jean was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church where she played the organ for 60 years and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Sonoma Chapter. She also liked sewing and her family was very dear to her. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Earl Devlin; a daughter, Lisa Holcombe and her husband, Calvin, of Canton; a son, Matthew Devlin and his wife, Brenna, of Clyde; a sister, Sue Jackson and her husband, Bob, of Canton; seven grandchildren, Ashley Ewart, Levi and Lauren Holcombe, Trent, Tanner, Macey, and Micah Devlin; and three, great-grandchildren, Conner and Mason Ewart and Danica Holcombe. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug Love, Reverend Dr. Bert Blomquist and Reverend Dr. T. David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
