Asheville-Martha Emma Garren, age 80, of Sagamore Lane died Friday, August 22, 2003 at Mission-St. Joseph Health System.
She was a native of Haywood County and previously resided in College Park, MD. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Randolph and Della Wilson Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Elmer Garren who died 1990; four sisters, Mary Belle Williams, Elizabeth Hardin, Ruth McGee and Helen Jean Williams and a brother, Clinton Williams.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lanham United Methodist Church in Lanham, MD.
She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Lynn Bernius and her husband, Dean of Keene, NH and Linda Joy Cable and her husband, Joe of Maysville, KY; a sister Rowena Morris of Canton, a special nephew James E. Hardin of Durham as well as 4 grandchildren, Stephanie and Amanda Bernius and Sam and Cathy Cable.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 24th at Canton Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Beverly Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
