Martha Hall

Martha Jean Hall, age 65, of 112 Owl Holler Road died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a native of Clay County and a lifelong resident of Haywood County. She was the daughter of D. C. Hall and the late Rosemary Setzer Hall. She was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Allen Clinton Hall. She was owner and operator of Mary and Martha's Beauty Shop and a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church. She loved playing the piano and crocheting. In addition to her father, she is survived by two sisters Mary Dee Hall of Canton and Darlene Setzer Williams and her husband, Jimmy of Shelby; three nieces and three nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Ed Lowder and Reverend Scotty Patrick officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Williams, Bobby Profitt, Gary and Allen Gamble, Wood Smathers and Ralph Rose. At other times, the family will be at the residence of her sister, Mary Dee Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Morning Star Cemetery Association Trust Fund, P.O. Box 1746, Canton, NC 28716.
