Waynesville, Martha Gaddis Harrell, age 74, of Ruby Park, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Brian Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Allen and Bertha Wyatt Gaddis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Michael Harrell, who died in 1993; a sister, Sue Broom; and one brother, Charles Gaddis. Martha loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were her world. She was also a fan of NASCAR racing and Tuscola High School Sports and a member of Lake Junaluska First Baptist Church. Martha is survived by her daughter, Cynthia M. Harrell; granddaughter, Alondra Nikole Harrell Marquez; grandson, Dawson M. Harrell; two brothers, Billy Wayne Gaddis and his wife, Juanita, of Waynesville and Joe Gaddis and his wife, Brenda, of Canton; best friend of 48 years, Glenda Smith Fish; and lots of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Banks officiating. Burial will follow at Fulbright Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Broom, Steve, Richard, and Scott Gaddis, Aaron Fernandez and Jeff Entwistle. Honorary pallbearers will be Dawson Harrell, Patrick and Jacob Broom. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Brian Center Staff.
