Martha Moody

Waynesville, Martha "Marty" Moody, age 63, of Hideaway Lane, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2011 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Frances Plott Harn. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 19 years, James C. Moody; one son, John C. Bolin of Waynesville; a stepson, Robert R. Moody and his wife, Lindsey, and their children, Ella Gray and Corinne, of Asheville; one brother, David Plott and his wife, Mary Rose, of Waynesville; brother-in-law, Bruce Moody and his wife, Carol, of Hampton, Virginia; special aunts, Louise Plott of Columbia, South Carolina and Frankie Warren of Waynesville; a special niece, Kara Lyman of Alice Springs, Australia; nephews, Shannon Plott (Corey and Alex) and Shane Plott and his wife, Carolyn (Jesse and Tyler); forever friends, Susie Noland, Ronald Hardin, Peggy Moody and her husband, Hugh, Kristan Hammett (Savannah and Jessie), Sue Ferguson and Megan Limkringkrai of Seattle, Washington, Vickie Cagle, Ron Mahaley, Judy Wenzel, JoAnn Henson, Joanna Hannah, and Dana Strickler. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. A private service will be held in July in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to pay tribute to Marty are asked to contribute to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Kinter, Dr. Harry Lipham, Dr. Charles Thomas, and the staff of 21st Century Oncology for their many acts of kindness.
