Martha Plemmons

Martha Muse Plemmons, age 89 of Hilltop Farm Road passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at MedWest Haywood. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County she was the daughter of the late Jess and Lucille Johnson Muse. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jim Mease; and two brothers, Wiley and Max Muse. Martha was a route manager for the Asheville Citizen Times for over 20 years and a member of Canton Central United Methodist Church. She served as den mother for Cub Scout Pack 316 in Canton. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Paul S. Plemmons of Canton; two daughters, Marilyn Lent of Knoxville, Tennessee and Ann Titus of Meeker, Colorado; a son Mark Plemmons of Livermore, California; a step son, Mike Plemmons and a step daughter, Kim Garland both of Swannanoa; a brother, Frank Muse of Enka; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Paul Brown officiating. A private interment service will follow. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
